Summary

After recovering from a nervous breakdown, Ellen comes to her aunt Minna's Southern mansion to regain her strength, but strange events begin to haunt her. She glimpses people in various places, only to be told by those people that they had never been there; when they also deny the reality of other things Ellen claims to have seen, she is forced to consider whether her illness is returning to poison her thoughts. Only when a woman she has seen is found murdered, does Ellen finally realise the terrifying truth.
