Summary

1939. With war imminent in Poland, knowing the dangers her people face, Tamar flees to London while her fiancé, Isaac, must stay and fulfil his duty to his country. He carries with him a silver clasp from Tamar's bracelet as a token of her love. In the heart of the East End, Tamar strikes up a friendship with two women; but when the devastation of war reaches Tamar's doorstep, she is recruited for espionage. Though she fears for her own life, the thought of Isaac being taken from her is worse still.
